Oatmeal Buffet

Oatmeal Buffet!

Let the children create their own Oatmeal Breakfast!

Read: “Breakfast Around the World” by Gill Munton. Read about the different types of breakfasts from around the world.

Rhyme: My Mommy Gave Me Oatmeal

Materials needed: bowls, oatmeal, raisins (and other dried fruits), cinnamon, brown sugar, maple syrup, cut up fruit, milk, soy milk, seeds (sunflower, pumpkin), DO NOT USE NUTS (walnuts, peanuts, pistachios etc.),

Instructions: Give each child a bowl of oatmeal. Set out the additions in small bowls with small spoons (baby spoons work great). Let each child decide what they would like to add to their oatmeal and let them put in one spoonful of each item. Put liquid items in small pitchers for easy pouring. An alternative is to put the liquid and or servings of dry items into individual small paper drinking cups.
