Dividing with Apples!

Read: “Rabbit and Hare Divide an Apple” by Harriet Ziefert and Emily Bolam

Rhyme: If a Red, Red Apple Comes Bobbing my Way

Materials needed: apples, knife, sentence strips, marker.

Directions: One whole apple, cut one apple in half, cut one apple in quarters.

On the sentence strips write 1 whole apple, ½ apple, ¼ apple. After teaching children about fractions, set out the strips and have the children place the correct slice on the card.
