Rainbow Windsock

Materials
  • Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Crepe paper, variety of colors
  • Stapler
  • String
  • Hole Punch
Project
  1. Cut out the center of the paper plate.
  2. To give a rainbow effect, cut and layer pieces of crepe paper, one of each color, of varying lengths. Use these strips as your model for cutting additional pieces of each color. For example, all of the strips of red crepe paper will be the same length, but they will be shorter than the green pieces and longer than the blue pieces.
  3. Staple the various lengths of crepe paper around the outside edge of the paper plate, doing all of one color at a time.
  4. Poke three holes in the plate and tie three equal lengths of string to the holes.  Tie the loose ends of the strings together and add a long piece of string from which you can hang your windsock.
