Fizzy Rocks

Mix water with a few drops of food coloring. The more food coloring you use the brighter your color will be. Then slowly add the water mixture to Baking Soda, just enough to make a pasty dough.

Form clumps or “rocks”, set aside to dry for a few hours.

Pour small amounts of vinegar over the rocks—and watch what happens!

Variation—let children use pipettes to drop the vinegar in by the drop, pour all of the vinegar on the rocks—how long does it take to dissolve totally!
